[Going to the movies in Sweden]

In Sweden, it can be quite expensive to go to cinemas. Tonight, despite the prices, we thought it deserved a try and therefore went to the cinema in Lund for a movie.
The price of the movie is 145 SEK per ticket, and you can get a 10 SEK discount if purchasing it online. The experience is sort of different from what we had in Taiwan. The theater is less crowded and less staffed as well. Probably because the operations encourages consumers to buy tickets online and make thing more automated.
And there are also a reason for high ticket prices. The government enforces a 25% of VAT on the prices and part of the revenue goes to Swedish Film Institute to support the production and internationalization of Swedish movies. No wonder the price is so high.
